Hôtel de l'Orme, Akena, Evreux

This hotel is clean overall and right in the city center of Evreux, but it feels a bit expensive compared with other modern hotels there. There's no private parking, just paid parking nearby. The building needs modernizing. Only the Comfort rooms have been updated with a new bed, paint, parquet floor, radiator, walk-in shower and toilet. They still lack a full length mirror. The door lock doesn't feel secure, and the blackout curtains let daylight into the bedroom in the morning.

We stayed here a couple of times over the last few years. It's very clean and warm in winter, and the location is great for browsing the city. The desk lady noticed all our luggage and gave us a bigger room. Thank you.

The room and hotel were really nice, and I'd definitely stay again. It was very hot the night I was there, though, and air conditioning would have helped. The room faced a street, so with the window open there was some noise from a group chatting loudly outside.

Really good value for money, with a nice breakfast. The staff were helpful and respectful, and the hotel was clean, pleasant, and handy for the town center.
