The countryside walks around here go on for hours, and it’s easy to lose yourself in nature. For a relaxing holiday, I think this is the best place. Francoise and her husband are kind and helpful, and give you all the information you ask for. The rooms are comfortable and clean, and you can eat something different every day. I stayed 7 nights and never had the same meal twice. They also have a little funny dog called Yummy, who’s adorable.

The location is remote and surrounded by nature, just what we wanted for a weekend with our motorbikes. There were 5 of us, all friends, and the hotel has 5 rooms. We spent the weekend with Francois and Jules, exploring the Perigord area. The rooms are spacious, renovated, clean and well cared for, with super comfortable beds. The restaurant was outstanding, especially the meat, and the wine cellar had an impressive range of good bottles from different places. We didn’t expect that! They also have good Belgium beer. The meat fondue and entrecôtes we ordered were top of the top. It’s a very good hotel with an exceptional restaurant. My note is a 10.

The owners were very hospitable, and the food was excellent. The wine selection was unbelievable, and a cellar tour is a must. There’s excellent walking and hiking nearby, and while this was a great stopover, you could easily spend several days exploring this very scenic region.

Good quality food and friendly service are hard to find in this part of France, and Le ranch des lacs has both! The hotel was recently renovated, and I’m looking forward to staying a few days. There’s a swimming pool for relaxing in the sun. All in all, don’t miss it, whether for the restaurant or the hotel.
