We liked the location for an overnight stay before Le Shuttle, about 25 minutes away, and the views across Calais and the countryside. The restaurant served lovely food, and the staff were friendly. Outside, there were chickens providing fresh eggs for breakfast, plus sheep and goats. The youngest goat kept escaping and trying to join us at breakfast. Our family room was spacious and comfortable, though it could use a makeover. The window blind was broken and temporarily replaced with fabric held up by Velcro tabs that didn't work very well. Other reviews suggest it had been that way for at least a couple of weeks. The bathroom was generally very clean, but the shower sealant was black and needed replacing, the radiator was rusty, and the toilet seat was loose. Staff were very friendly, and most spoke English better than we spoke French, but we weren't given much information about the hotel. Wi-Fi was advertised, but we only learned it wasn't working because of a problem in the village after we found someone to ask. The breakfast room felt small and cramped for the number of guests; the restaurant might be a better space. The owners haven't had the place long, so I expect things are heading in the right direction, but the little issues need time to sort out. We'd probably stay again when travelling through Le Shuttle.

I thought the restaurant was one of the best places I've eaten. The steak was perfect, and the service was the best. The rooms were very clean, too.

The meal was a real treat, I could see England while eating a very tasty steak and dauphines. Breakfast was spot on, with eggs left for you to hard-boil yourself. The hosts were incredibly helpful, and everything felt authentic, with lovely surroundings and incredible views. Our rooms were beautiful, the beds comfortable, and the shower and bathroom perfect. My family is completely satisfied. Thank you both.

We stayed in the little two-bedroom apartment, with one double bed and another room with three single beds. It had a small kitchen with all the appliances, plus a bathroom with a shower, washer and dryer. The place was nice and clean, and seemed to have been decorated fairly recently, so it felt fresh. The traditional French-style property has lovely countryside views, with Calais in the distance. Our host was friendly and accommodating, and we could choose between two rooms. Breakfast was fresh and nice: two very big croissants, fruit, bread and cheese, yogurt, juice and coffee. I did feel it was a little expensive for what we got. Before heading onward, we went for a short walk, and the children loved feeding the sheep and spotting molehills. A great first night in France.
