Hotel Le Palace

Thank you so much 😊 I had a lovely day here and would definitely recommend this hotel.

The staff are very friendly, and the price is reasonable, but I really wouldn't pay more. The croissants were huge and fresh, which is a shame given how brief the breakfast is and how little effort goes into presenting it. There was just one jar of jam being passed from table to table. The building is very run-down, even though it's very clean, and the hotel floors all need replacing. The name should be changed, because this place is nothing like a palace. Several guests have mentioned the serious soundproofing problem, and we couldn't get any peace with street noise, people in neighbouring rooms, and noise in the hallway. We were meant to have a large bed, but got a completely ordinary one.

The room was spacious and nicely decorated, and I slept well in the good bedding. It was freezing when I arrived, though. I turned the heating on, but it didn't warm up enough, so I told reception. A friendly gentleman apologized, turned it up, and brought me a warmer duvet because I was really cold. The shower was a disaster. Its jet was so strong that water sprayed everywhere, and the water wasn't hot. On top of that, the light switched off every two minutes, leaving me in total darkness until I raised my arm to trigger the motion sensor. Not pleasant at all. The soundproofing was terrible, with noise from outside and inside. I was staying here while traveling.

I booked a night at the Palace while traveling, since I needed a room near the Aubrais train station. The building doesn't make much of an impression at first, but reception called when my train arrived late and offered to pick me up. I really appreciated that. My room was spacious and very clean. The soundproofing wasn't great, though the area was thankfully quiet at night. I could also bring my meal up from the restaurant downstairs and eat it quickly in my room. After I checked out, reception called again to say I'd left my charger and a sweater behind. I was still nearby, and they offered to bring them to me. Such lovely, attentive service. I'll gladly stay again on my next trips 🙏🏻
