Le MontBlanc Flumet

The family run Hotel Le Mont Blanc has a really authentic mountain feel. Ski schools often stay here, so evenings can get lively when the young skiers return from the slopes. The surrounding mountains are peaceful and romantic, though, and there’s no road noise. The rooms are on the small side but comfortable enough for a short stay. We especially appreciated the free parking right out front, with plenty of spaces, after long workdays. We were here for work because our company travel budget made Megève too expensive. This hotel was a good alternative, about 9 km away. The staff were extremely kind and welcoming, and breakfast was generous and very good, with fresh pastries and warm, freshly baked French baguette. The price to quality ratio is very good for the area, and it’s a practical choice near Megève without paying the main resort’s high prices.

I stayed for one night, from August 12th to August 13th, after booking ahead and paying the bill on arrival. When I checked out, I noticed breakfast had been charged twice. The receptionist acknowledged the mistake but said she couldn't refund me because her boss wasn't in the office. I was told the money would be returned by bank transfer right away. It’s now been two months, and despite several emails, I still haven't received it. Please check your bill very carefully when paying so you can catch any errors and avoid being cheated.

We were stranded with our shopping after missing the last shuttle, and the very kind man at reception went out of his way to find us a taxi home. It arrived promptly and took us back to our apartment. The tourist information lady hadn’t been able to help, so we really appreciated his assistance this evening. His kindness is a great example of the service here, and I’d recommend the establishment.

The service was friendly, and the breakfast was really good for the price, with plenty of choice and great bread. The breakfast room and reception have been renovated, and I wish they’d update the rooms too. We stayed one night during our Tour des Grandes Alpes. The rooms were small and old, smelled musty, and the balcony didn’t seem safe. The railings on the balcony next to ours were already broken. We also went swimming in the nearby lake, which was nice and refreshing.
