We stayed here over the New Year holidays, and it was the worst experience I’ve had in all my travels around Europe. The place itself is beautiful, but poor management lets it down. Our apartment faced the inner courtyard and the neighboring doors, with no sunlight at all, even though the website showed a balcony room with a mountain view. The sofa bed turned out to be two separate bunk beds with awful mattresses. My back certainly didn’t thank me. Wi-Fi in the common areas connected on and off and was so poor that even opening an email or sending family photos was difficult. Mobile coverage was nearly nonexistent too. There were problems around the property as well. The only elevator serving the four buildings wasn’t working, the sauna was under renovation, apparently for a couple of years judging by reviews, and the pool was dirty. The chlorine smell was so strong that it stung our eyes just being nearby. We knew about the €300 deposit when booking, and had seen it mentioned in other reviews, but before check-in no one told us what we’d have to do to get it back. You can check the photos, they’ll probably surprise you. For a hotel claiming four stars, I’ve never before seen guests made to strip and fold their own linens and take out their own trash. That’s the cleaning service, at our expense. There weren’t any dishwasher capsules or even sponges in the room, either, so how were we meant to wash dishes, with a bath towel and shower gel? The reception staff were absolutely rude. Maybe it was something personal, I don’t know. We were the only ones checking out, but they deliberately did everything slowly and ignored our questions, even though they knew a small child was waiting in the car. I hope this gives you a fair idea of what to expect.
