Our family room had a mountain-style bathtub, and the hotel is really well located. The welcome was cheerful, with smiles and good humor, which always helps! There are some very good products at the restaurant: fiery chardon, with ultra-tender meat flambéed right in front of us, Savoyard fondue, and excellent pizzas. The kids liked their minced steak with homemade fries too. Book ahead, as the restaurant gets busy.

We were a table of four with a 9:00 PM reservation, the second seating, and had left our phone number. Imagine our surprise when we arrived to find the restaurant closed. The only explanation was a notice from the town hall asking for it to close for imminent renovations. We could understand the urgency and the situation. The problem was that nobody told the people with reservations, so we had no chance to make other plans, especially at that hour. We weren't the only customers caught out. I've never seen a business owner behave this way. In our view, customer service needs improving just as much as the renovations. We won't forget this.

Really unpleasant, and I wouldn't recommend it. The receptionist didn't speak Spanish or Catalan. We booked through Booking.com, and when we checked the conditions on Trivago, it said pets were allowed. There was also a clear sign at reception and in the room showing a special rate for dogs, but they still wouldn't let our small dog stay. We had to leave him in the car overnight and go down to check on him. The only option they offered was another hotel, after we had already paid. The room was very old, breakfast was meager, and there was nobody to serve us. Other guests we met in the dining room felt the same way.

After years of pleasant winter stays with the managers, our visit from December 17, 2018, to December 22, 2018, was disastrous. There was a new manager and a new team, and the hotel felt like a ghost hotel. During the season it was closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, with no breakfast. In our room, the shower curtain was unsanitary, the night light was on, and the toilet leaked. The towels weren't changed for a week.

We ended up waiting an hour for takeout pizzas, after being told at 18:45 that the staff were eating and the restaurant opened at 19:00. I was with my three-year-old, who was excited to have pizza. We went for a little walk and came back at exactly 19:00, only to hear they already had lots of orders and ours would be ready in an hour. Reminding them we'd stopped by earlier, and that a three-year-old was waiting, made no difference. Maybe their pizzas are good, I'll never know. The way they treated my little boy and me means we'll never go back. I don't know the hotel or restaurant otherwise.
