We spent over a week at the campsite in a trappeur tent, which gave us a nice balance of camping adventure and lodge comfort. The staff were welcoming and helpful, and the kids' activities were thoughtfully chosen with respect for nature and the surroundings. The sanitary facilities and pool were very clean, which isn't always the case in France. The small bar and restaurant served really good pizzas, even with local ingredients. We especially enjoyed the pizza with the three local cheeses.
This campsite is in a great spot, with lovely scenery and lots to do nearby. The grounds feel natural, with beautiful trees and rocks, and the woman at reception was very friendly. The facilities need work, though. There were far too few showers and dishwashing stations, and the showers weren't very clean. The water could suddenly get very hot, and my daughter was hit on the head when a showerhead came loose. There were only around 10 to 15 chairs by the pool, and the banquiai floor meant there was nowhere to put a towel, so we never stayed there. I was especially worried about the campervan area. The toilet emptying and cleaning points and the fresh water were all next to each other. I saw people using the long hose to clean their toilets, then a campervan used that same hose to fill its water tank. That's asking for trouble. I work in a hospital, and keeping dirty and clean areas separate is essential. We just filled our campervan with bedding. The location is great, but the facilities are lacking.
We just spent a week at this great campsite, and the service was especially good. We wanted to shift our stay by a day at the last minute, and that was no problem. Our electricity box was quite far from the pitch and we had no extension cables, so they quickly gave us two free of charge. We also underestimated how cold the nights would be, even in midsummer, and they brought us two blankets to keep warm in the tent. Thanks for everything!
We stayed in the Tienda Trappeur at camping Huttopia and loved it. The mountain views were great, and the amenities, infrastructure, staff, and service were all excellent. We'd definitely come back.
Juliette was incredibly kind and helped with everything we needed. The camping, showers, and location near town were all great, and it was affordable with good views. The drinks were pricey.
