Hôtel de Cavoye

The location was good, but the bathroom was gross and this didn't feel like a 4-star hotel, more like 2 or 3 stars at most. There was no water in the room, so we were expected to drink from the tap, and the minibar was empty. The AC controls were locked in one area, so we couldn't turn it on. The baby crib had no sheet and a dirty mattress. We were put four flights of stairs up despite clearly asking for a room with a baby. There was no parking as advertised. The staff seemed poorly trained, apart from one lovely man who helped carry our luggage upstairs.

The hotel had some good points: a nice room layout, a convenient location, a parking lot very close by, and heating that worked well. But on my third night I was bitten by bed bugs in room 103, with bites all over my stomach, arms and neck. When I reported it, the receptionist wasn't empathetic. I was eventually moved to another room, but it was smaller than my original one. They should also provide carts to help guests move luggage.

The hotel is very nice and right in the center, but the staff generally seemed slow, uninterested and not very professional or engaged. When passing reception, nobody seemed interested in guests. At breakfast, staff prepared things while we and others were still having dinner, and restaurant staff didn't look around to see whether guests needed anything. The restaurant food was low quality too.

We stayed in winter, when there were few guests, and found the hotel quiet and elegant. The dining room is beautiful, the bar very inviting, and the location is perfect. Staff were friendly and helpful.
