Mercure Forbach

A great find if you’re traveling between Reims and Strasbourg, just off the main motorway. The staff were lovely and friendly, the rooms were big and clean, and there’s parking on site. A hypermarket and fuel are close by too.

I expected more as someone who regularly uses all or hotels, but this stay was a real disappointment. I’d never been in a room so dirty. The staff were friendly and offered to move me when I asked, but the other room was just as bad. I had to leave and find another hotel at the last minute. Such a pity.

The town is quiet and close to the German border. Our room was spacious and clean, and the staff were very helpful in explaining everything. There are hotel parking spaces across from reception, plus plenty of free public parking right next to the building. There are tables and seats outside the entrance, a nice spot to sit and chat in summer.

We were there with a group for an overnight stop. The staff were welcoming and the food was quite nice, and the room itself was comfortable, though I think the hotel needs updating. Service in the room was lacking. I had to ask for soap, there was just one hand towel and one creamer for tea or coffee, and the fridge was mouldy. One of the balcony chairs was broken too.
