La Bastide Saint Georges

We came away wanting to return, largely because of the genuine care and hospitality here, as well as the beauty of the region. For anyone seeking a peaceful, elegant stay and a full Provence experience, I'd recommend it. The restaurant made every meal feel like an occasion. Its creative, refined dishes use local ingredients, and the service was impeccable. The gardens and scenery are stunning, and the atmosphere feels truly Provençal, calm and relaxing. We spent a few days in Fort Calquier. From the professional, warm welcome to the comfortable rooms and all the thoughtful details, everything was flawless. The restaurant deserves the highest praise.

A perfect stop on our drive from northern Spain. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. It's a friendly family-run hotel in a calm, relaxing spot, with soothing interiors, a good restaurant and a pool. We had fantastic weather, so we spent our days outdoors and didn't use the spa.

We only stayed one night, but loved it. The owners are fantastic, and the staff are friendly too. It's a wonderful, peaceful area where you can reconnect with nature. Breakfast, lunch and dinner were all delicious. One thing the restaurant could improve: being more mindful of guests from other backgrounds. My husband and I are Muslim, and we were served an amuse-bouche with ham. That was the only issue for us. We still loved our stay and will definitely come back.

Our brief interaction with the hotel was very unpleasant. We didn't like the atmosphere or the room we were given, which was right beside the shared areas. The online photos also seemed quite different from what we found in person, so we politely asked whether the hotel would waive the fees as a goodwill gesture. They refused quickly. We tried contacting them again, but got no reply. It felt like short-term gain mattered more than keeping customers. We won't return.
