Les Hôtes du Paradis

The kids had plenty to do, with the aquarium and go-kart track right next door. We also enjoyed Glen’s cooking, especially that strawberry, basil, and pepper jam, which I already miss. The rooms are roomy and comfortable, and the garden is beautiful. It’s an easy base for exploring the region by car, with La Rochelle nearby and a big parking lot on site. We couldn’t use the pool because of the weather, but I did get in a workout and a well-earned sauna. There are so many places left to visit, so we’d love to return in sunnier weather. A really good stay.

Our room looked out over the pool, and we loved its comfort and decor. The hosts were charming and made us feel welcome. It’s a lovely spot in a peaceful country village, a little paradise. We’d absolutely recommend it.

The room was very nice, and the setting was quiet. The welcome itself was average. Although the pool was advertised as heated, its heat pump was broken. The TV room was fine, but the TV wasn’t connected and was only used for games. Wi-Fi was free but didn’t work. The yogurts were past their expiration date. Breakfast was laid out on our first morning, but we didn’t see anyone, and there was very little contact with the owners.

We stayed July 19th to 26th, 2019, and I’ll remember it fondly. The new owners were incredibly welcoming and attentive. Our spacious, comfortable suite, “Île de Ré,” was in a beautiful setting, with plenty to do, including table tennis, the pool, fitness center, and sauna. Breakfast was generous: fresh-baked pastries, several kinds of bread and jam, including some Glen made, plus juice, fresh fruit, and yogurt. I highly recommend staying here.
