B&B Home Fort-de-France Marina

There was no bar or restaurant on site, so we had to go next door to the actual hotel for a meal at Zest. Some front desk staff also came across as superior, though there were exceptions. The lobby coffee maker broke halfway through our week and was still out of order when we left. The jacuzzi was broken too, and the front desk casually treated that as normal. The laundry room had three washers but only one working dryer. I started out optimistic, but by the end of the week I was disappointed.

With a car, this hotel is pretty much perfect. The rooms are great and still feel new, the staff are lovely and happy to help, and the balcony kitchen is a clever touch with everything in new condition. The pool overlooking the sea is perfect too. Without a car, or if you're hoping for a quiet place to relax or work, the main limitation is that only three restaurants are within walking distance. Five stars for sure!

The location is a bit out of the way, so having a car helps, and restaurant choices nearby are limited. The lobby restaurant is closed on Sundays, like many places in Martinique. I do wish there were a water taxi between the marina and city center. You also have to take your room trash out yourself, which I think is normal for apartment hotels, though it would help if the bin were closer. I would stay again. The spacious, bright rooms overlook the pool and marina, and the front desk staff were super friendly, welcoming, and spoke English. I arrived early, but my room was ready and they let me check in. They explained the hotel and apartment rules, plus the breakfast and dinner options. There's an all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet at a nearby hotel, worth the 17€. A few other restaurants are walkable too. Solid four stars.

It's an okay place, but for the price in euros the value didn't impress me. The front desk service was exceptional, and the modern rooms are a plus. Housekeeping only comes on the third night, though, and you have to take your own trash out. You can't really walk anywhere from Poseidon except to nearby hotels, so rent a car if you stay here.
