Allotel

It was after 2 AM by the time I finally got into a room, completely worn out and too tired to raise the other problems. The water was lukewarm and undrinkable, there were no glasses, the shower curtain was flimsy, and the A/C vents had mold. The air conditioning was broken across the whole hotel wing. I tried about ten rooms before finding one that worked, which meant five long walks back to the separate building with reception. The clerk was clearly exasperated but did try to help, eventually giving me a pile of keys and telling me to test them all. The whole experience left me frustrated and exhausted. I wouldn't recommend it.

The breakfast was mediocre, and the air conditioning didn't work either. But the bigger issue was how the hotel treated me when I was stranded. Three colleagues from my company had previously stayed there on their own for nearly a month. A week or two after they returned to Spain, I ran into trouble during the general blackout across the Iberian Peninsula on April 28, 2025. My cards and phones weren't working, and I had no cash. I asked the hotel to lend me €10 for petrol so I could get to work the next day, with my company ready to pay it back once the power grid was restored. They refused. After all the money my company had spent there, I found that lack of help deeply inhumane and lacking empathy. I won't stay there again.

I asked twice to speak with the hotel manager, and both times was told he wasn't there. The staff seemed uninterested in whether guests were happy. The breakfast attendant and the women at reception argued with me over a piece of bread they wouldn't give me. It was very rude, and nothing like what I've experienced elsewhere in France.

The internet was unreliable, but everything was kept clean and some rooms come with kitchenettes. The staff were especially helpful, kind, and courteous. The amenities are about what you'd expect from a two-star hotel.
