Premiere Classe Bethune - Fouquières Les Béthune

The location is good, but the customer service was absolutely horrendous. The automatic system didn’t work, so we had to call a French number at our own expense, even though the place only costs a small amount. The room reeked of smoke, the floor was dirty, and the toilet hadn’t been cleaned.

The bathroom had rubbish in it and dirty towels left in the shower. The room smelled of smoke, the door was open when we arrived, and one bed hadn’t been made. The other clearly looked like someone had slept in it.

I only needed a night’s rest before continuing my journey in the morning, but the room was awful. I paid 50 euros and collected the key from an automatic system because reception was closed when I arrived late. Room 85 was at the back of the hotel. Opening the door, I was hit by a smell of mold and strong cigarette smoke. The bed and pillows smelled bad too, the floor was dirty, and the covers had lots of holes from burns and wear. The towels looked like they’d been used for over five years, and the bathroom had a lot of problems. I got dressed and slept on top of the covers. In the morning I went to reception to complain, but the woman there didn’t speak a word of English. The breakfast isn’t worth discussing. Take my advice and don’t set foot in this hotel. It’s not worth the hassle.

For a 30 Euro motel, I thought it was fabulous. It’s right off the motorway with plenty of easy parking, and there’s a McD close by. The room was clean and spacious, and the shower and sink both worked just fine. At that price, I can’t complain. If you want the Ritz, stay at the Ritz. For me, this is a great 30 Euro motel, and I’m glad it’s here. Thanks 👍
