La Salamandre

We really liked how spacious the gîte was, along with the outdoor dining area and the owners' kindness. They're around if you need anything, while staying very discreet. The site is secure, comfortable, and well placed near the sea, and we found it quiet. We highly recommend it.

The beach is only 20 meters away, though it gets pretty silty at low tide. We enjoyed the easy bike route by the sea into the town center, 2.2 km away, and it's a good area for an evening ride. There's room to park even a long trailer. The building is secure, large, well insulated, and clearly fully renovated. Wi-Fi can be slow sometimes, but we weren't there to stream 4K movies.

The location is good, but the ceiling needs a better clean. We booked three cottages for about fifteen of us, all honest people, and won't be coming back. Despite the inventory being fine, the owner tried to charge me €14 for a toaster I hadn't broken. The next guest noticed it wasn't working. I was treated as if I were lying and asked to pay for a fault that wasn't mine, and they hung up on me. Be careful.

We could see the sunset and Fort Boyard from the table while eating, since the house is right on the seafront. The rooms are spacious and clean, and the owner was friendly and always available. Fantastic.
