Auberge De La Vallée

I left after seeing room #1. The carpet was stained and filthy, dust was everywhere, especially on the lamps over the headboard, and there was tobacco and what looked like a small joint under the bed. Housekeeping seemed like an extra charge. I have photos to prove it. I've never posted a review before, and I'm not someone who attacks places for no reason, but after reading the other reviews I wondered if we'd stayed at the same hotel or if I was just incredibly unlucky. Avoid at all costs.

The studios were in terrible shape, with broken furniture and poor bedding, and there was also a rat infestation. The manager was unpleasant and dishonest. The premises are outdated, and the restaurant felt unwelcoming and was decorated without taste. A terrible experience.

Awful. The rooms were very dirty, smelled bad inside, and had poor sound insulation. Breakfast was out in the open with the door left open to the street. There was a strong wind, and bits of leaves ended up in the food.

The place has a cozy, calm feel, and the welcome and service were warm. We had a good homemade meal. It does look a little old-fashioned, but it seems made for a peaceful stay.
