Hôtel Cyano Fréjus-Saint Raphaël

It's a pretty basic hotel, with very small rooms and no wardrobe, just a couple of shelves and a desk. We only got one towel each and had to ask for more. The bathroom door wouldn't close, and there was no iron in the room. They provide soap and shower gel/shampoo in dispensers, plus a hair dryer. On our first morning, a staff member woke us at 7:45am, accusing us of smoking in the room because an alarm had gone off. It must have been silent, since we didn't hear it, and none of us smoke. Totally unacceptable. The location is okay if you're driving, though it's a 20 minute walk to the old town center. The price was okay for the room.

The beds were comfortable, and breakfast was fine, but the rest of our stay was a mess. We had around 20 rooms in our group, and most had some kind of foul odor. In mine, a sewage smell kept coming up from the shower and was nauseating. One room was unbearably hot; staff said there was no fan and suggested opening the windows, but there were no screens and insects flew in. Then we were told to leave the doors open. Who's comfortable sleeping that way in a hotel? At reception, music was blaring even though the rooms are close by. The ceiling tiles near the doors were cardboard with metal grates glued onto them, and they were coming loose. Students whose rooms had ants weren't given fresh bedding. The front desk man was the most unpleasant person I've dealt with in years: he ignored me while I waited for help, refused to serve me 35 minutes before the posted closing time, and said no when we asked about advertised laundry and air conditioning. Just no to everything. The staff came across as unprofessional, unhelpful, and hostile. Don't take groups if you don't want to host groups.

The staff made our family feel welcome as soon as we arrived, and they were quick and professional whenever we needed anything. They also helped with questions and suggested local restaurants. Our room was comfortable and clean, with extra pillows and blankets that the kids appreciated. The location worked perfectly for us, close to the attractions we wanted to see. We were very impressed with the service and had a fantastic stay at Hôtel Kyriad Fréjus Saint-Raphaël. We'd happily recommend it.

Breakfast was generous, nicely laid out, and really good. The espresso machine in the room was a definite bonus, too. Our room was compact but had everything we needed, and the details and style were lovely. The beds were very comfortable. It could have been cleaned a little better, though nothing major. The man at the concierge desk when we arrived at night was kind and professional.
