Villa La Tour De Mare

A sweet stray cat around the property gave it a homely feel, and I loved having a bathtub to relax in after a day out. The apartment was clean and comfortable, the surroundings beautiful, and the staff friendly, dependable, and always ready to help. Parking was easy. I didn't use the pool because I preferred going to the beach, but it looked well kept and inviting. There were a couple of niggles: the toilet door wouldn't close properly and the sink wouldn't drain. The Wi-Fi was unreliable at times, and I had to log in again every few hours. The beach is about 10 minutes away by car, so it's a bit far if you don't have transport. For a peaceful, clean stay with great staff, a car would be useful if you want to go to the beach.

The room we got was filthy. The fridge smelled and had yellow stuff leaked all over it, the sink area was stained, and there was no soap in the bottles. My dog even found a weird dirty plastic object under the couch. The man at reception offered to move us, but only the next day if possible, so we'd have had to sleep in that filth. No one mentioned sending a cleaner, and he never apologized. I'm updating this after the manager's reply. The receptionist didn't apologize, and neither did she, as my partner and I can confirm, though I understand now that she was there. The photos don't lie. If the room looked like that, I can't imagine what the kitchen is like, given the mention of breakfast being offered. Their response shows the staff's attitude: it says they apologized, but leaves out that the room change was only offered for the next day. I don't know if the reviews praising the cleanliness and staff are real, but our stay was awful. It looked nothing like the pictures. This was absolutely filthy, and nowhere near a four-star hotel. It also costs more than 200 a night.

The rooms are great and the pool is nice, but it doesn't open until 10 am, just half an hour before checkout. That doesn't leave much time for a swim before heading out. Although the hotel is outside town, getting to Fréjus-Plage by car is easy enough, and there are lots of good restaurants around the marina.

The kids had a great time in the big pool, and our room was clean with a comfortable bed. The staff were friendly, especially the night security guard, who was really helpful. It was a peaceful, zen-like place, and everything felt just right. Thank you.
