La Vigneraie

We stayed here both on our way out and on the return leg of our holiday. Sophie gave us a very warm welcome, and the quiet spot near the vineyards made it a good place to sleep. The room has everything you need for a night, a couple of nights or longer. Breakfast was more than generous, and everything was so good we couldn’t resist eating plenty. We’re keeping the address in case we come back to Fuissé.

The manager was very friendly, and the accommodation itself is lovely, with a great location and an awesome breakfast. The €84 price for four, including breakfast, was great. It could work well for a longer stay, but I wouldn’t recommend it with children under six. The bathroom was cold, and the heating wasn’t strong enough to warm it for my husband and children. Maybe a space heater would help. The mezzanine had been suggested for the kids, but its stairs were much too steep and dangerous, with no safety gate. Some furniture was being used as a barrier, but it could have fallen down the stairs if pushed. The railing at the top was loose and nearly broke, and there was dust all over the floor, a problem with my asthmatic son. We’d chosen a double bed and a double sofa, but when we arrived in the evening the sofa wasn’t made up, and we didn’t know how to set it up. There were no cushion covers either. Too bad.

The breakfast was extraordinary, the gîte was superb, and we received a very warm welcome. There’s nothing but praise from us. We also had an impromptu wine tasting that really showed their style. We can’t wait to return! Christian and Isabelle
