Sitting on the porch, I could take in the lush, beautifully cared-for garden and enjoy the excellent breakfast that arrived in a little basket. The bedroom is upstairs, and the bed was really comfortable. The chalet felt like a tiny dream house, all cosy with a lovely woodsy smell. I especially loved how quiet and relaxing it was, with the scents of the flowers, trees, and wood around me. The hosts were so friendly and made me feel at ease right from arrival. We didn't share a language, but they patiently explained everything, and Google Translate made that much less of a problem.

The real highlight was how peaceful and quiet it was, and the lovely area made for some great motorcycle rides. Breakfast came right to the door from the owner: fresh bread, coffee, tea, orange juice, ham, cheese, and sweets. I did manage to hit my head pretty hard on a tree inside the bedroom, even though I was careful. The treehouse seems built for the owners' height, about 1.65 m (5 ft 5 in), and at 1.84 m (6 ft 1 in), I had to mind my head. My own fault, really.

The nature around the treehouse is stunning, and the owners were friendly. The place itself is really cosy. There isn't much to do in Fumay besides the hiking trails, though.

The view, the cottages, and the owners were all absolutely adorable. It's an experience you really should try. We loved it and will definitely come back.
