Adonis Gap

The pool was disgustingly dirty when I stayed in hot weather, and I heard other guests complaining about it at breakfast. Breakfast itself had very little choice for the price. I paid 58€ in total after tax and breakfast, and feel the short stay was worth no more than 35€. I don't understand the hotel's 3 stars, and wouldn't recommend it when similar or cheaper options, including entire Airbnb apartments, are available. I stayed because a relative was at the same hotel, and he wasn't impressed either. Avoid it if you can. The cleanliness was appalling. On arrival, I found holes and stains on the sheets and curtains in my double comfort room. I also didn't expect two single beds pushed together, or a toilet positioned so awkwardly that it was impossible to sit on properly, with the toilet roll holder in the way. The blonde woman at reception was abrupt. She gave me a key without telling me my room number or how to find it. She mentioned breakfast hours but didn't say breakfast cost extra.

The hotel could use renovation, though the room was okay, the bed was good, and the mountains looked lovely from the window. Most of all, receptionist Roger made us feel welcome. He was kind and professional, shared useful information and stories about the area, and his friendliness made our stay a nice experience. Thank you, Roger. We wish you all the best! It was a bad stay from start to finish, and I wouldn't recommend the hotel. The room wasn't clean: there were spider webs above the AC unit, and the bathroom and bed both looked as if they hadn't been cleaned after the previous guests. The receptionist wasn't nice either.

The decor feels old, like a motel in a '70s movie, but the price is decent, the bed is comfortable, parking and Wi-Fi are free, and the staff are nice. It worked perfectly for my one-night stop on the Route Napoléon.
