Camping Alpes Dauphiné

The welcome was really friendly and helpful, and you can tell the place must once have been nice and luxurious. These days, though, it needs maintenance and improvements. The camper service area is a complete joke and almost impossible to reach. There aren't any camper pitches, just grass that gets slippery in the rain.

The reception was very friendly, and the camping spot is lovely and well maintained. There's a nice pool up a small hill, plus a little outdoor jacuzzi.

The campsite has good facilities and a nice restaurant, but the way we were treated on arrival and departure was awful and upsetting. The lady owner was rude and abrupt with me and my children, and she wasn't helpful. There's a sign saying English and French are spoken, but at times she seemed unwilling to understand or speak English, though she would use it when it suited her. We felt very unwelcome. I've never had an experience like that in England or France, and we won't return.

There's good food and a swimming pool for the kids at this pleasant enough campsite. Just keep an eye on your belongings. Our electric scooter was stolen after we left it outside the pool for half an hour. There's nothing stopping people from the main road coming in or out, even if they aren't camping. I did spot lots of Hoopoe birds, though, which earns the place an extra star!
