Hôtel Les Capucines - Saint Tropez

The rooms are small and not very nice for what you pay, and the hotel is a 15-30 minute drive from anything because of the traffic. At night I couldn’t reach reception when I needed a blanket, even though I could hear someone moving around in the back room of the lobby. We booked using AMEX points. The hotel sent AMEX a confirmation number but had lost our reservation and couldn’t find either our name or the number. It took days and hours of calls before the AMEX team managed to get in touch and sort it out. For this price, the place just isn’t worth it.

The outdoor spaces were lovely, with a beautiful yard that feels like a park, a sea view, a pool, and a heated outdoor jacuzzi. We liked the whole setting and the free parking. Staff were polite and helpful, and the road up to the hotel was pleasant too. There’s a construction site right next door, which can be noisy in the morning. Our standard room was about 15 m2. The bed was comfortable and the shabby-chic style was nice, but the room felt very small. The bathroom had only a curtain, no door, which made it uncomfortable and lacking in privacy. We paid 150 euro off-season, which seemed fair, but this room type is too expensive in high season without a proper bathroom door. Breakfast wasn’t very varied, but everything was tasty and good quality.

The garden is beautiful and the pool was clean, but the room was tiny, with barely enough space for luggage. The beds felt so narrow I worried I might fall off if I turned over at night. The shower was dirty and clogged. The room phone didn’t work, so if you needed anything you had to walk to reception. Breakfast was okay for the price, but overall it was poor value.

A lovely, peaceful stay with a beautiful pool. It’s an easy walk into town, near shops, restaurants, and things to do during the day. Getting around would be easier with bike rental or a shuttle, since the hotel isn’t near bus stops and the small hill is a tough climb for some. A great spot if you have a car.
