Hôtel Villa Maya – Golfe de Saint-Tropez

The team is awesome, you feel right at home. Great location, perfect spot and a nice vibe. Parking, 2 pools and a sauna too.

We took the dinner package, and the food was really delicious. The bathroom was spacious, though the room itself felt very cramped. It was built underneath the house patio, and I could see the ground through gaps in the floorboards. It was draughty, but luckily the air conditioning helped during our winter visit. The pool was less than a meter from the door, so watch your step. From the online photos I expected more boutique St Tropez, but Villa Maya felt more like a basic, homely guest house than a professional hotel. I thought it was expensive for what it offered, though St Tropez itself isn't a cheap place.

We had a wonderful visit. It's a lovely little hotel with interesting, holiday-style rooms and a fabulous view. Breakfast on the veranda was great, and the staff were very friendly. We asked to check out an hour later so we could visit Pampelone Beach, and they were happy to accommodate us even though they were busy. The closest restaurant or takeaway is about a 30-minute walk, or a 5-minute drive. We walked and enjoyed looking around. Highly recommend!

We used 40,000 Capital One points to book because the pictures online looked nice. When we arrived, the room felt like an outhouse, and bugs were coming through gaps in the wood floor. We took the keys, told the manager we wouldn't stay, and asked for a refund. They refused to refund us or Capital One. We tried several times to contact the hotel staff about it, but they wouldn't answer. Don't book here unless you're prepared for this kind of experience.
