Breakfast was a real highlight for us, some of the best we’ve ever had, with high-quality local products. Philippe also showed us the terrace and the attic, set up with bar stools and tables, and our room was spacious and pleasant. There isn’t a bar within walking distance apart from a pizza place. We’d definitely recommend staying here if you’re passing through or want somewhere restful.

The room came with a terrace, and we could use the fridge freezer for picnic food. Breakfast was traditional and local, with fantastic bread. It’s a rustic place, though it has all the modern facilities, and Phillippe was friendly and helpful. There’s a good, inexpensive wood-fired pizzeria and bar about a 10-15 minute walk away. I’d stay again when passing through.

The surrounding roads were lovely to walk, and I spent many hours exploring them during my two nights in Gaubiving, the village where my grandfather was killed in WW2. Phillip was a gracious, kind host who went out of his way to make me comfortable. The accommodation was impeccable. I doubt I’ll return to the village, but if I do, I’ll stay here.

Breakfast comes with local produce, and they usually have local honey for sale. The accommodation is clean and economical, set in an old farm building that’s been converted. There’s even some graffiti carved into an interior wall dating from 1742.

The included breakfast was full of local things: ham, cheese, baguettes, croissants, jam, and delicious homemade apple juice, plus more. The owners were very friendly, and everything was clean. Our room was very large and well equipped, with a spacious bathroom.
