Hôtel Le Manoir de Gavrelle

We booked a package with dinner and breakfast included, and it was amazing value. The beds were really comfortable and the rooms, though on the small side, had everything we needed. We stopped here overnight on the way to Alsace. It’s in a lovely spot and easy to reach from the motorway. We’d definitely stay again.

Breakfast was pleasant, but the stay felt expensive given what was missing. We had chosen the hotel for its restaurant, then found out it would be closed on the night we were staying, after it was too late to cancel. We would have stayed somewhere else. There was no hot water in the rooms that evening or the next morning, and the receptionist seemed uninterested.

The staff didn’t speak much English, but they could see how tired we were after the long drive from England and welcomed us even though we hadn’t booked. We’d searched in Arras for somewhere that suited our needs and found nothing, so we went a little outside the centre and came across this little gem. Our two dogs were welcome too, and we spent the rest of the day resting and taking a short walk with them. Breakfast the next morning had a nice mix of sweet and savory food. I highly recommend it.

The rooms seemed a little tatty, and maybe they’ll be renovated soon. We took the restaurant menu elsewhere because it didn’t impress us and lacked variety. The gardens are lovely, and our dog was welcome throughout the hotel. It’s well located for Arras and the Nord-Pas-de-Calais area. The bar and restaurant spaces have been modernized nicely and are comfortable.
