L'Escapade Lochoise

The location is perfect for visiting nearby villages and castles, and it’s a great place for a few days. Everything was spotless, and we had a very comfortable stay. The B&B is thoughtfully set up with a toaster, kettle, drip coffee maker, and microwave. Breakfast is self-service, with a baguette and croissant left in the room at check-in for the next morning. The only downside was that they were dry. The fridge also had milk, water, fruit juice, and butter, with jam, tea, coffee, plates, and glasses provided. There was no need to wash anything; the owner takes care of it in her dishwasher, which I appreciated because hygiene matters to me. It was relaxing, and there was no rush to check out. I recommend it.

The welcome was very friendly, and we had a lovely, comfortable, spacious guest room. Having our own entrance was a real plus. Breakfast was generous, and since everything was already in the room, we could have it whenever we liked.

The room and grounds are pretty, but the lack of privacy and the staff’s attitude make this somewhere to avoid, especially if privacy matters to you. The owner is intrusive, listens to conversations, demands explanations, and doesn’t respect boundaries. There’s no soundproofing; you can hear residents’ footsteps shaking the walls. An access door leads straight to the owner’s house, where everything can be heard and listened to. We especially enjoyed the radio blaring at 7 a.m., which really felt deliberate, as if it was meant to keep us awake. Breakfast was mediocre despite being advertised as “exceptional”: bread and pastries from the day before, and poor-quality juice from a carton. I hate writing bad reviews, but I have to. We were kicked out after our first night, even though we’d booked two. And to you, Madam, don’t bother trying to discredit or justify yourself after this comment. You must have been bored to be so intrusive during our stay. You simply didn’t stay in the place where you belonged, and I won’t play you a violin by giving a rating that doesn’t match the appearances thrown in our faces at first glance! Management should at least have refunded us for the night we didn’t spend there. I call that a scam. I’ve contacted the service that manages reservations for this establishment twice, and the management team remains silent. We shouldn’t have to pay for a service we never received. 🤢🤮

The fruit basket was a lovely touch, especially in the hot weather. We found the cottage peaceful and comfortable, with perfect bedding and everything working well. It was impeccably clean, and the owner was very pleasant. I highly recommend it.
