Le Royal Peyragudes

Just perfect.

We won't be coming back. The apartment was really outdated and dirty when we arrived, with hair and lint on the bed linens. We reported it, but nothing was done. The pool and jacuzzi were also very old and badly in need of renovation. At least the location was excellent, only five minutes from the slopes. The manager, though, wasn't very friendly.

We'd been going to this resort for over 20 years and had stayed in this apartment more than once, but the reception service was appalling this time. The heaters didn't work, we were freezing, and the receptionists offered no solution. The apartment was VERY old and in terrible condition. They also leave it dirty for the next guests instead of cleaning it after people check out. The pool was freezing, and the jacuzzi was so old it was broken all over the walls and not hot at all. There are plenty of other issues I could list. For the price, I absolutely wouldn't recommend staying here in winter or during ski season.

We liked the shopkeepers, who were extremely kind, and the couple who welcomed us and cleaned were always attentive to everyone's comfort. But the accommodation rented by NEMEA was a different story. A weekly half-day hike was included in the price, but we were given the same hike twice, so we couldn't enjoy a second one. That's unacceptable. The first apartment was dilapidated. The microwave was so high it couldn't be used, there were no balcony chairs or table, the sofa was at least 20 years old, the bed made an unbelievable racket, and the cupboard doors wouldn't open. We called twice with complaints. They sent the cleaner after the first call, though she wasn't responsible for the problems. After the second, they offered another apartment that was slightly renovated, but it still had no balcony furniture, and the sliding glass door wouldn't close. Thankfully, it was summer. For an organization that promotes eco-friendly practices, this is unacceptable. The foam mattress was no more than 15 cm thick and so uncomfortable it felt like the bed slats were digging into our backs. We woke up early, and not in a good mood. Don't pull the cutlery drawer too hard or you may have to tinker with its sliding mechanism. The hot and cold water connections in both the kitchen and bathroom are reversed. The aquatic area was as outdated as the rest and needs renovation. Peyragude is worth a holiday, but not in accommodation rented by NEMEA.
