I understand the cancellation policy allows a charge when someone doesn't show, but I couldn't give 48 hours' notice because my flight from India was delayed by six hours and rescheduled, so we couldn't get there. I sent two emails saying we were still stuck on the ground in Delhi. I don't feel this was my fault. The polite thing, to me, would have been to charge me but email an offer of some credit if we wanted to stay next year. They didn't respond to either email, so I first learned about the charge from my credit card statement. In their online response, the hotel said they wouldn't have charged me if I'd called to warn them. That seems specious, since I'd already sent two emails explaining the flight problem.

We booked a slightly better room because the extra cost was small, and the terrace looking over the river was lovely. The hotel sits right on the Marne and is a lovely little place. Its restaurant was very good, especially in an area short on proper restaurants. The staff were welcoming and helpful.

Everything was perfect, from the service and presentation to the taste. What a delight for the taste buds, and a restaurant we'll remember. Thanks for keeping these wonderful places going and preserving French gastronomy!

The owner is professional and very attentive, and the welcome is always warm. We've been several times, and each visit is a real treat: excellent food, with refined dishes that are beautifully presented. I'm not usually keen on dessert, but I thoroughly enjoyed the "Griotte and Raspberry Entremet, flavored with raspberry cream and cherry sorbet." In summer, the terrace overlooking the Marne is lovely, and the interior feels chic and cozy. We highly recommend this place.
