Really great!!

Isabelle and Denis were kind and always attentive during our four-night stay. I loved the mountain-style room, and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was generous, especially the brioche I looked forward to each morning. A very pleasant stay, highly recommend.

The lounge with its library was a lovely place to sit, and there's even a real Black Forest cuckoo clock in the dining room that chirps cheerfully every hour 🙂. Isabelle and Didier took excellent care of us, and the food was good. Our room was spacious and clean, and the wood paneling throughout gave the place a warm, mountain feel. The sauna came in handy after hiking, snowshoeing, or cross-country skiing. We were warmly welcomed on our December 30 to January 3 stay, and recommend it 👍

The house is pretty and pleasant, and the rooms are comfortable. But the welcome lacked the warmth I'd expect from a bed and breakfast, and the convivial feel of a shared table just wasn't there. The aperitif was tiny, a small glass of white wine and a mini slice of bread each. If you don't drink white wine, the owner makes her displeasure clear when asked for something else. Tea bags in the rooms cost extra, although coffee is free with no explanation. It all felt stingy, with everything kept to the bare minimum. Breakfast was very meager: bread, butter, and jam, which was thankfully homemade. In a region known for excellent cheeses, we were given thin slices of industrial cheese like the kind sold in plastic at the supermarket. The owner doesn't take credit cards, but didn't tell us when we booked, which put us in an awkward position. The bill was €158.20, with no 20-cent discount. It was very disappointing, and we won't be back. Emmanuelle
