The breakfast was good, with fresh juice, and there’s a little bar serving draft beer. Staff were friendly and helpful, and the parking can fit a bus, which is a big plus. The hotel is a little old, though the rooms have been renovated. Some airport noise is a downside.

Update: I heard from the hotel proprietor that 10/22/24 was a special week when all hotels cost more, and that I’d have found the same very high price on any booking site. He also said he’ll report the higher taxi charge. For about 90 euros a night, this hotel is the right price, and it doesn’t deserve a 3-star rating. I feel completely taken advantage of. I was charged 237 euros for the night of October 22, 2024, while the hotel website now lists it at 85.5 euros. Outrageous. This is not a 3-star hotel. I also think they’re in cahoots with the taxi. A ride that should have cost 30 euros was 40. The driver said the extra was “for the company,” so I suspect the hotel charged him 10 euros for calling him. I stayed one night before flying out of the Paris airport. The hotel had few rooms and was near the airport, and the 3-star rating made me think I’d splurge on a nice place. I paid 237 euros, though rooms for the same dates are now about 90 euros. Arriving by taxi, the outside looked dingy, with dead plants, no landscaping, and dirty ashtrays on tables. I hoped inside would be better, but reception and the lobby were very dark. The receptionist insisted they deserved their 3-star rating and that the room would be nice. The lobby and stairway carpets had stains, and the room felt like a 1- or 2-star place. It was adequate, but worn around the edges. I didn’t want to touch the heating unit because it clearly hadn’t been cleaned. Though the hotel is non-smoking, I could smell smoke drifting around and couldn’t tell where it came from. The 10 euro breakfast wasn’t great. There were lots of choices, but the small bowl of cornflakes seemed old. The juicer for fresh orange juice was great, and the standard coffee machine was there. I liked the little Bonne Maman jam jars. The croissant looked right but tasted off, maybe old. The baguette seemed just as old. Sliced Swiss cheese was tough, old, and flavorless, and I don’t know how long it had been sitting out. There were bacon, sausage, and eggs, but after everything else I wouldn’t have trusted them to be fresh. There were plenty of packaged items. Lots to choose from, and I’m sure some people were happy with it. My taxi from the airport cost 27.5 euros, and I was told the return trip would be 30. The proprietor called one for me, and when the driver came to get me, he went inside to talk to them. I think they have a deal. In any case, he charged me 40 euros. It might be worth the roughly 90 euros it’s going for, but I very much feel taken advantage of. It is near the train station and airport, but in a high-traffic industrial area.

The price is pretty good, and it’s close to CDG. But the room was dirty and smelled like a sewer, paint was flaking off the walls, and there was a dent punched into the bathroom door. The toilet wouldn’t flush, there’s no elevator in the five-story building, and spiders were on the ceiling.

The rooms were clean, and the staff were friendly. It was nice to have the option of buying breakfast downstairs. There were issues with the air conditioning and noise coming from outside.

Bagatelle is a very nice hotel, close to the airport and within walking distance of the train. It’s a bit off the beaten path, but there’s a restaurant with good food. I recommend it.
