The room was spotless and roomy, with a sitting area and a small kitchenette, and the staff were warm and helpful. Check-in was quick too. We stayed in June while visiting the D-Day sites, and the location worked well as a central base. There’s only one electric car charger in the city, so I agree with other reviewers that another charger would be useful.

The two stars are for the generous room, pretty good breakfast, and handy location near restaurants and historic sites. I was on a group tour and had no say in where we stayed. If I come back to Normandy, I’ll choose somewhere else. Our room had two bedrooms, a living room with a table and six chairs, a futon, a full kitchen, and a three-quarter bathroom. But cleanliness fell short, and the place badly needs repairs and maintenance. None of the three heating and cooling units worked. When we arrived, we had to open every window and the back door to cool the room. That door opened onto nothing, with no balcony, and there were no screens to keep insects out. We were on the third floor, with no elevator, and the pool was closed. If you need a quiet room, avoid the west side: a large family entertainment center next door stays open quite late.

The location is handy for visiting World War 2 sites, and the town has plenty of restaurants and bars. There’s a market on Sunday morning and Sunday evening, and it’s a good idea to book restaurants. We stayed five days at Adonis Grandcamp Daisy with two families: three adults, four teenagers, and one nine-year-old. The accommodation was very clean, well-equipped, and safe, and breakfast is worth having.

The village is charming, and fresh fish comes in each morning for you to buy. It was really lovely and delicious. Just be aware that shops close around 2:30 and reopen at 4:00 or 5:00, so we missed the tourist items we’d seen in a window and planned to buy on the way back. We enjoyed the heated pool and the beach is only minutes away. Management was very helpful too. We’d definitely come back for a weekend by the shore. We had mistakenly thought we were booking a hotel in Bayeux, though. A taxi back to Bayeux costs either 100 euros or 60 euros, depending on the taxi. There are no taxis or Ubers available locally, so getting into town means walking a mile each way. Good for you, as they say! The accessible room has a shower chair. The shower has no raised edge, which is both handy and a problem because water runs out into the living room. They provide a large squeegee to push it back, but I’d use a couple of towels to stop the water before it gets past the bathroom door.
