Hôtel d'Angleterre Grenoble Hyper-Centre

The location makes it easy to get to Grenoble’s main tourist spots, and it’s in the city center near a tram station. The hotel is very old but has kept its antique look well. Our room was tidy, breakfast had a good variety, and the staff were so friendly, especially the receptionist. We had a good experience overall.

We got a very large room, and breakfast was very good and worth the 16 euros. The hotel itself is old. My only complaint is the coffee, please change the beans. Parking in the main garage usually costs 33, but hotel guests pay 16.

Breakfast and the location were the highlights, and the service was kind and polite. The building and rooms are old and worn, with some amenities coming apart, and cleanliness wasn’t great. My room wasn’t very quiet either. I could hear the neighbors, especially when someone nearby was showering. There are better hotels in Grenoble at a similar price.

Florencia at reception was excellent. She helped fix a reservation mistake on our end and suggested Minimistan Bar and the local restaurant Chez Marius, both of which we really enjoyed. The hotel is perfectly located and has discounted parking nearby at a very reasonable price. Our room was a good size, very clean, with nearly new sheets, a comfortable bed and AC that worked perfectly. The bathroom was a little small but comfortable and worked well. Breakfast is a must: local marmalades and honey, excellent breads, a good range of quality cheese and charcuterie, plus fruit and yogurt. The price felt right for both the hotel and breakfast. I strongly recommend staying here when visiting Grenoble.
