Novotel Grenoble Centre

The staff stood out most. Receptionists were extremely nice, helpful, active, and friendly, whether it was morning, daytime, or late at night. The rooms and restaurant food were impeccable, and the hotel was close to everything we wanted to see. Staying here was an excellent experience, and we'll definitely choose it again when we revisit Grenoble.

The location was good, and the rooms were good too. The elevator wasn't working during my visit. Breakfast was good, though the dinner menu was limited.

The restaurant made for a really fun meal. The staff went out of their way to explain the cheese and wine, and gave us a great experience. The rooms were very nice and remodeled, too.

Every week my company puts us up here, and yet they still can't save the company details for invoices. Checking out is a nightmare every time. One morning, four of us spent 42 minutes trying to check out and get correct invoices. Sorry, only one of the four with the same company information was right. We had to catch our flight, so eventually gave up. Staff are slow, complicated, and negligent. For a hotel chain like Novotel, people should be able to provide a basic need like proper invoices for reimbursement. The breakfast is disastrous, even by French standards. We had to wait for plates, the food selection was very limited, and there were no vegetables or pickles. It costs 20€. When you call to change a reservation, they reject the request by default. After two or three calls, you might get a nice person on the phone who can help. All this for a room costing 160-170€. The restaurant area is under renovation, but this isn't mentioned anywhere. We had breakfast in front of the elevator while the receptionist vacuumed. I've often had a poor impression of this old, outdated hotel on business trips, but the last visits were even worse than expected. Rooms are worn and dirty, with cigarette marks on the carpet. Some are renovated, but you don't know what you're getting for 170€ or more a night. Mine was ice cold; the heating was loud without making it warm, the carpet was dirty, and the bathroom had paper cups for toothbrushes. Accor group should review and audit this place and upgrade the staff and services to protect its brand. I suggest staying somewhere else.
