Camping La Pinède

It's a beautiful part of France, and the site is well placed for exploring the area. The lodge was basic but okay, though there was no oven, the old BBQ was disgustingly dirty, and the pillows were the worst I've ever had. The lodges vary between old and new, and some sit right under power lines. The place has potential, but it feels unfinished and neglected. Grass was dead or overgrown and full of weeds, pitches weren't cared for, and waste pipes, gas bottles, and rubbish were left around the lodges without any attempt to hide them. That bare feeling carries on at the pool and bar. Both could be nice, but they're cold and empty, with no sunbeds, tables, or plants. Swimming was about the only reason to spend time there. We skipped the shows, though they seemed to be held in a gravel car park beside a shed. There wasn't much for people who don't speak French. We managed, but I can see how others might struggle. With investment and effort, the site could be okay, but in its current state I wouldn't return.
