After driving for 10 hours, we got to the property around 5:00 AM and had no check-in instructions or way to get in. The owner had let us down completely. I tried the mobile number listed on the hotel’s Google page several times, but it went to voicemail. He finally called back at 8:30 AM, angrily blamed us for disturbing him, wouldn’t let us explain, and hung up. If you don’t want calls, don’t put your personal number on Google. I’d tell future guests to avoid this place. The owner was aggressive, unprofessional, and completely unreliable.

The owners were friendly and accommodating, and the lunch and dinner we had were acceptable, though nothing special. I didn’t want to write this, but after four reminder emails I finally gave in. We were here for just one night in August, and the room was my main concern. It was dark and gloomy, with rough rustic plaster, yellowed and torn lace curtains on the patio doors and bathroom windows, and a mildewed bath with a matching shower curtain. The shower sat under a sloping ceiling, so only a small child could stand upright beneath it. I took photos and posted them a year later. Sorry, owners, but this really needs sorting out.

The hotel was lovely and very reasonably priced. The pool was nice, and the rooms were cleaned each day. It’s a bit far from the city centre, the one downside, but the place makes up for that in other ways.
