We really loved our stay here ❤️ The hosts made sure we had everything we needed, and breakfast was very good value. We arrived much earlier than expected, but they found a way to accommodate us. This family-owned house has a great feel and a rich history. The pool and restaurant are a short, easy walk away, and the hospitality in the area felt genuine.

We arrived at Château de Bournet at 7:30pm during peak tourist season, expecting the room we had booked. Instead, an elderly gentleman seemed confused by our arrival and asked our names several times before telling us our room had gone to someone else. He had apparently mistaken them for us without checking their ID. After he went to speak with his wife, who seemed to be in charge, she appeared overwhelmed and called their son. We then learned that the other guests had booked at Ferme de Bournet but had mistakenly been given our château room. By then, we had already spent over an hour waiting without a proper solution. They offered us a room at the Ferme for free, but it was nothing like the château room we had booked and seen online. It was stuffy and run-down, with no air conditioning in temperatures above 35°C. We took the key temporarily and went to dinner, but used that time to search desperately for somewhere else to stay. With few options in the middle of nowhere, we were fortunate to find a decent nearby hotel that could take us. What troubled me most was how little the hosts seemed able to manage their booking system or resolve the problem they had caused. They made no real effort to find us suitable accommodation and left us to fix their mistake ourselves. That was far from the professionalism and hospitality I expected from a place presented as a château experience. If I could give zero stars, I would. Even one feels generous after this treatment.

Surrounded by nature, this charming little place is lovely for relaxing and enjoying a vacation. It was my first time staying in a "chateau," and such a great experience! The host is a kind, knowledgeable man who explained the history of the place. We really enjoyed our stay and the great breakfast. Thank you so much!

The owner was very kind and took us on a wonderful history tour of the chateau. We also had a great dinner at the restaurant on the grounds, with vegetables from the garden. Château de Bournet feels very authentic and has been owned by the same family since the beginning. I hope we can come back one day!

Such a fascinating, wonderful place to stay. I'd highly recommend it.
