Les Ilots de Gruissan

The houseboats are super cool, with a good amount of indoor space for a floating mobile home. The kitchen and dining area were well equipped, and it was easy to make apéros, open a bottle of wine and watch the boats pass. Everything was very clean. We booked a two bed, two bath houseboat direct through the website for an overnight stop while cycling. It was a late booking, and the payment setup was confusing because the 50% deposit and 50% balance had to be paid separately. A single payment could have been simpler. There was plenty of terrace space for seating and our ebikes, plus an outside power socket. Recommended!

The views were amazing, and the sunrises and sunsets were just as good. We stayed two nights with our 2 children in late July, and it was a welcome disconnect with no regrets. The chalets are a little gem, thoughtfully laid out and finished to a high standard. The kitchen was well furnished with quality Bosch microwave and fridge freezer, if I recall correctly. There was even a hair dryer for those who have hair. The plates and cutlery were high quality, and a place with champagne flutes earns a star from me. The terrace had plenty of good furniture, an outdoor dining table and other seating, with ample room to relax. The aircon unit was tucked into a wooden enclosure, and the bi climate pergola can shelter you from rain if you're unlucky. Each side also had a well thought out privacy enclosure. PS: I struggled to find a nearby bakers I could walk to, but later realized there's one by the petrol station, maybe 10 minutes from the chalets.

We had a great time in the house-boat, which had everything we needed. The owner/manager was professional and incredibly helpful. Such a fun place to stay!

Terrible customer service. We needed to push our trip back by three days, but the hotel refused to change the booking because we hadn't paid extra for a flexible rate. The hotel is half empty right now. Don't book unless you're completely certain your plans won't change.
