Camping La Fontaine

We liked the good-sized pitch, clean site, nice pool, and easy access to the local area. Our dog was welcome and never caused any issue, and the friendly people made us feel at home. We don’t speak French, but basic words and Google Translate were enough to sort things out. Dinner at the restaurant one night was very nice, with a good atmosphere. My only gripe was that I couldn’t sit by the pool to watch my children unless I wore swimwear, even though I wasn’t swimming. I could sit outside the fence, so it wasn’t a major problem, but it could be harder for parents of younger kids.

The staff were nice and helpful, and there’s plenty here, including a pool, hot water, and a place to wash clothes by hand. The sanitary facilities were very clean. We got unlucky with our pitch and had no shade. Also, nobody speaks English, so be ready for a struggle unless you speak French.

The reception was friendly, and the small, quiet campsite has clean facilities, shaded pitches, a pool, and a jumping castle for children. It’s a good base for bike trips nearby, but cycling from the campsite to the trails felt a bit too dangerous with our two younger children on their own bikes. The route requires taking a road with a 70 km/h speed limit, and there aren’t enough bike lanes.

Nice staff and flat pitches, so we didn’t need levellers, with electricity close by. The campsite also has a pool, though we didn’t use it. The WC and showers were very clean, as were the camper facilities for water, gray water, and emptying chemical toilets.
