Hôtel Château Saint-Gilles - Bayeux

Coming back after a day out was such a pleasure, with the quiet gardens and relaxing atmosphere. Chateau Saint Gilles is ideally located near Bayeux for day trips along the coast. We stayed in a room in the hotel's newly opened section and had a great experience. The attentive, helpful team made us feel at home, and my wife and I couldn't have been happier with our week in Normandy. We hope to return 😊❤️

Breakfast was the one letdown: some items weren't replenished, there were very few pastries when we arrived, and no croissants. Dessert was a little disappointing at dinner, though the food itself was delicious and the wine list offered a good range of quality wines by the glass. The renovated hotel is lovely, with comfortable rooms and quality linens and towels. Staff were friendly and professional, and we'd definitely stay again despite those small issues.

The sauna is great, and the property and building are beautiful. The rooms are spacious and clean, though the remodeling uses cheap materials. Staff seemed stressed, overburdened, and not fully trained.

The breakfast buffet was very nice, and the Sunday barbecue brunch was a feast. The grounds are meticulously maintained, the rooms are very comfortable, and we can't say enough good things about the staff at Chateau Saint Gilles. It's just minutes from Bayeux and well placed for sights and activities across Normandy, around 10-45 minutes away by car. We had an amazing stay and would absolutely come back.
