The central location is the one thing in its favor. The rooms were dated and dirty, the restaurant was overpriced, and the reception staff came across as haughty and dismissive. They even threatened to claim I hadn't booked if I posted a Google review. Avoid this place, seriously.

The apple tart was okay, but lunch was a letdown. My main was supposed to be cod meunière, and I couldn't find any cod in it. The meal was mediocre.

The parking was easy to get to, and the village is charming for an evening walk. We had a generous, varied breakfast, and the rooms were spacious and clean. The set menu is such good value that I can't find anything to complain about. We were welcomed with smiles, and the food was some of the most delicious I've had, especially for a hotel restaurant. I'm keeping this address.

I really enjoyed the meal, especially the perfectly cooked fish with chorizo. I chose the day's set menu with starter, main course and dessert, and the dishes were nicely presented and prepared. The price was very reasonable. The place was calm and spacious, and I got a warm welcome from the friendly, helpful owners. A very pleasant surprise at lunch today. I'll definitely come back.
