VILLA Zaphira

The welcome was friendly and professional, and breakfast was pleasant. There was also a coffee machine in the room with two pods. Those were the only positives. I felt unbelievably uncomfortable here, like I was an unwanted guest in someone's home, even though I'd paid an exorbitant price for what was offered. In hundreds, maybe thousands of stays, I've never had such a bad feeling. The owner felt far too close, and her smelly sandals were left in the hallway where I kept bumping into them. The room smelled foul and wasn't clean. The towels smelled so damp that we had to bring our own. The bathroom was tiny and fitted into a walk-in closet (?!) The old house was a mess in practically every area, and the owner was painting during our short stay. It felt like a total lack of respect. The listing description was misleading. There was no air conditioning in the room. It was in the shared living room, or even in the room where the owner lives on the first floor (?!), but not in either of the two “guest” rooms on the ground floor as the listing said. Temperatures hit 35-37°C, so I had to bring my portable fan. There was no view, toiletries, clothesline, indoor parking, charging station, barbecue, safe, smoke detector, and so on. Check-in was only between 5 and 6 pm, and they asked us to check out at 10 am, despite Booking.com listing 11:30 am. Avoid at all costs.
