The walks and lovely surroundings made for a very pleasant long weekend. There are plenty of cyclists and motorcyclists around too, so it's a good area for them as well. The gite was spacious, clean, comfortable, and nicely furnished, with a living room and kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom. It was well-equipped, too. A few things were less convenient. The bed is soft and narrow, which took some getting used to since we normally sleep in a large bed with separate duvets. Heating comes from the air conditioning, and because it blows away from the sofa, it took a while for us to feel warm there. We think there are rooms above the apartment. On our first night, hikers staying there made a lot of noise in their hiking boots, including in the morning. The other nights were fine. The bakery is about a 15-minute drive away. There seems to be a bakery service that comes by, but we couldn't figure out how to find it or whether to order through Facebook. It also seemed irregular, and the last time we saw him was at 9:30. We're usually up early, so it wasn't very convenient. And yes, the place was very clean and well-equipped.

Hargnies is wonderfully quiet, with forests all around. We went on long walks without seeing anyone or anything, and there's a cozy restaurant on the village square. You can shop in nearby towns. The gites had everything we needed, including a great kitchen with all its appliances, air conditioning, a lovely bed, and bed and bath linens. The bathroom was beautiful, and the terrace was a nice spot for the evening sun. Highly recommended.

The cottage had everything we needed, and the original decor was really well done. Sylvie gave us a fantastic welcome and was so friendly. The surrounding woods were lovely and peaceful for walks. A wonderful stay, highly recommended!

We decided not to travel because of the tightened measures and let them know well in advance. We hadn't taken out cancellation insurance, which was unfortunate, but we also felt helpless because we couldn't go without a vaccination passport or a negative test taken within 24 hours. They were understanding at first and offered to move our stay to another week, once the measures allowed it. Then, a few days ago, they changed their minds and said that was no longer possible. There was absolutely no reason for that. I find it downright scandalous. It feels like they're getting through the crisis financially by stringing people along and then not keeping their agreements. Luckily, everything is in writing and the lawyer is handling it. A promise is a promise. An agreement is an agreement. A promise is a promise.
