The executive suite was enormous, with a lovely valley view and a beautiful bathroom. We also really enjoyed the classic French breakfast, especially the fresh croissants and baguette. Chateau d‘Estrac is a lovely little chateau in the inland Basque Country, about 40 minutes from biarritz. Éric and Remy welcomed us so warmly, showed us around, and Éric pointed out the pool. They’ve spent ten years renovating the place. We even got to say hello to the lovely ducks. When we asked what to do nearby, they had great suggestions, including Grotte de la verna!! We loved our stay and will definitely come back.

We were lucky enough to be upgraded to a wonderful suite, and the breakfast was delicious. The attention to detail, comfort, taste, and charm made our short visit feel dreamy. It’s such a peaceful, lovely place, almost like a fairytale, and the location is really convenient. Our hosts were kind and friendly all the way from booking through departure. We’ll definitely return for a longer stay.

The gardens and pool have such a peaceful, elegant feel, and the ducks wandering around the grounds are a funny little bonus. Eric made the stay intimate and romantic, and even checked what time we wanted breakfast. It was delicious. I’d spent a while looking for historic chateaus in the French Basque Country and nearby before finding Château Estrac online, which I booked as a birthday gift for my boyfriend. We loved the place. The furniture, mirrors, and carpets are real works of art, and the candles, bathroom, antique cabinets, and well-kept shutters all add to its charm. The area is great too, with good restaurants, excellent local products, and friendly service nearby. Such a lovely place for a few summer days. We’re already keen to come back.

The owners were so kind and attentive, and made us feel completely at home. Since my partner is almost 1,90 and the bed in our booked room didn’t suit him, they offered us a huge suite for the same price. We also got a tour of the castle. The rooms, instruments, carpets, and cutlery have been kept so beautifully that I felt like I was sleeping in a museum. The mattresses are new, and even the older royal armchairs and sofa are still very comfortable. We had a lot of fun playing the piano there together. Breakfast was thoughtful, with Bach or Haendel playing in the background, and there was no rush at check-in or check-out. Between the beautiful surroundings and their kindness, we felt like royalty. Thank you so much. I hope we can come back soon.

We had breakfast in the garden, with ducks wandering around to keep us company, and absolutely loved it. The Chateau and garden feel magical, like a movie set. The hosts were super friendly and welcoming too. We’ll definitely be back. 🌸
