Delicious food!

The breakfast was ready at the crack of dawn so we could set off early, and the packed lunch was surprisingly generous. After a day of hiking in tough weather, the service and comforting meal really lifted our spirits. Hervé and Lise are warm, welcoming people who were accommodating even when we had some difficult circumstances. We adored them and highly recommend staying at their hotel. A huge thank you both for your kindness.

Given how few choices there are in town, this very basic hotel was adequate for a night. The simple, clean rooms let us sleep well. The restaurant was poor, though: breakfast felt mass-produced, without fresh produce or eggs, and half-board seemed pointless. The contrast was striking because the hotel also runs a shop in town selling excellent local cheeses, jams, and other products. Service at both the hotel and shop was functional but not particularly warm. There aren't many options in the area, so don't expect more.

The owner was lovely with the children and us, and clearly very organized and efficient. She was handling the dining room, bar, and reception on her own, though, so we did have some fairly long waits. That's the only downside we found. We booked that morning for a warm break after a day at the resort, just in time as it was full by lunchtime. The fondue was delicious, and now we know the secret 😉. The children's menu portion was generous, and kids can also have some of the dish their parents order, whether raclette, fondue, or something else.
