Hôtel le Relais

The roulotte was quiet and very pleasant for our one-night stay, and dinner for two was excellent with attentive service. Breakfast was the letdown: the buffet had cereals, mini pastries, four small pieces of cheese, some fresh fruit, and jam, with very little choice.

The biggest issue was noise: the floors and walls are thin enough that we could hear guests next door and people in the restaurant below. After showering, much of the bathroom floor was wet from water escaping the shower, though the shower itself was good. The bed is also very short. I'm almost 2m tall, and my feet stuck well over the edge. On the plus side, dinner was really good, and the bathroom, though small, had everything needed. Breakfast was basic but OK. The room was very clean and looked great on arrival, with a nice view over the garden behind the hotel. The hotel has locked private parking, and we were given a code to get in and out at night. Reception was friendly, and we could reserve a restaurant table as soon as we arrived. We did have to wait a long time for someone to take our drinks order at dinner, though, and were left sitting there thirsty.

We had a great dinner in the restaurant, and breakfast was good too. If you prefer breakfast elsewhere, there's a bakery just across the street. The hotel is in a small, picturesque town, and the private parking made it easy to find a spot. Reception staff were friendly and helpful, the rooms were nice and in good condition, and being able to bring our dog was a real plus.

The portions at lunch were huge, and the staff were friendly. The restaurant was almost empty, so I think it deserves more attention. It's close to « le palace ideal », and makes a great place to eat with a nice view after visiting the palace.
