Camping la Chaumière

I had a very relaxing stay of ten days. The plots are spacious and hedge-separated, with big old trees for shade, and there’s a swimming pool. The facilities were so clean I almost hesitated to use them: toilets, showers, fresh water, washing machines, and a chemical toilet disposal point for cassettes only. The campsite was also very reasonably priced for my limited pension. The village had no grocery shop, which was the one drawback, but its very good butcher, bakery, and chocolate factory were enough for me.

The pitch fit us just right, with room for our large van and small tent, and the facilities were clean and had what we needed. We booked at the last minute while heading toward southern Italy for a night’s stop. The staff were helpful on both phone calls and made our late arrival work. It was very peaceful. We left early, so didn’t get to try everything the campsite offers, but the area looked lovely. We’ll come back with time to explore.

We found a bakery just around the corner, perfect for a French breakfast in the tent. The owner was really friendly and let us in after opening hours. We spent one night here with our Bulli and roof tent, and the campsite was cute and well looked after. We felt comfortable and would happily return.

The receptionist was welcoming when we called late and said arriving late would be fine. The pitches are large, and ours was gravel, though there were grass ones too. Toilets and showers were clean and tidy, with hot water. There was bingo the evening we arrived. Dogs are welcome, and there’s a park right beside the campsite for walking them. Great value for an overnight stop. Thank you.
