A good option for a large group, with five bedrooms, and it’s a short walk to the harbour, shops, and the many restaurants. It’s a nice town, so bring walking shoes. The house was clean and well equipped, though we never worked out the microwave. The steep, narrow spiral stairs take some getting used to, and the wifi didn’t work.

Agnès was a wonderful hostess, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this reasonably priced guest house. She welcomed us with local cider, showed us the ground floor and garden, and explained breakfast and the essentials. When we came back from an evening in town, she had Calvados for us. Our top-floor suite had a kitchenette with a fridge and cooking facilities, a dining area, an open fireplace, beds for three with crisp white linens, and a beautiful bathroom. Breakfast was included, with fresh croissants, baguette, jam, cheese, yogurt, and fruit. Agnès also offered to make an omelette. The recently renovated house is near downtown Honfleur.

We chose the mansard room, which was spacious and cozy, with a kitchen, a large table, a double bed, and a small single bed. The private bathroom was just outside the room, but since there are no other rooms on that floor, it felt almost like it was inside. Breakfast was rich and tasty, with croissants, bread, cheese including camembert, fruit, cereal, juice, coffee, and tea. The B&B is in central Honfleur, about a five-minute walk from the centre, close enough to explore on foot but far enough from restaurant noise. Miss Agnes was very caring. She showed us around her beautiful house when we arrived and helped us find parking, which isn’t easy in Honfleur in mid-August.

We were welcomed with cidre, and the calvados before bed was a lovely bonus. The host was great, and breakfast was fabulous. A lovely place in the old town.

Excellent stay, highly recommend it.
