Maison des Fleurs

Tea and coffee are easy to make in the room, and breakfast isn't included. We picked up the key at the restaurant next door, Le Bréart, which was convenient. The place is quiet and charming, right in the middle of lovely Honfleur, with good value for the price. Inside, everything felt new and was very clean, with lots of space, comfortable bedding and good equipment. The catch is the steep stairs and low beams. It really suits nimble people who aren't too tall. You may need to duck your head now and then.

The upstairs apartment is spacious and really lovely, and it stayed quiet during our visit. Its location right in the city center is great. But there was no usable Wi-Fi, even though it was advertised everywhere. When we asked about the barely detectable signal, we got no apology or alternative, just that network disruptions can happen. We rely on Wi-Fi and specifically check for it when booking, so that response was frustrating. We won't stay here again, and can't recommend it to anyone who needs Wi-Fi. Luckily, the hotel next door helped us out. They seemed to know about the problem, and their signal reached our apartment.

The room looks like the photos and the location is very good, but the noise made it impossible to sleep. Its door opens straight onto the stairs and offers no sound insulation, so we heard neighbors coming and going all night, with doors slamming and stairs creaking. On the night I arrived, other guests were partying, and it felt as if we were right there with them. Garbage collection was another sure way to get woken up. I strongly advise against staying until proper soundproofing is installed.
